Napoleonic Battles in the Peninsula is a solo book-game set during the battles of the Peninsular War. It offers 20 battles to play solo, which you can enjoy while commanding the troops of each faction, fighting alongside the Spanish, Portuguese, and British allies against the French.

For example, you can play the Battle of Talavera as Sir Arthur Wellesley or as Marshal Soult.

You can also enjoy it in a 1-versus-1 mode, using the same rules for both players with a small adjustment in the battle setup.

Each scenario features a hex-grid map and deployment instructions for the player’s and AI’s units, as well as their behaviour.

The units show a number indicating their combat strength which, together with the unit type, target, and terrain modifiers, determines how many dice they roll when attacking.

There are 4 types of units: infantry, cavalry, commander, and artillery, each with its own characteristics.

Terrain affects combat, altering the number of dice rolled.

It includes a simple line-of-sight system.

The AI management is very streamlined. Each scenario explains where its units deploy and how they behave based on their type.
