With a main deck-building mechanic, players choose one of the nations included in the box and compete against rivals to accumulate the highest number of victory points. Each nation has its own unique deck and characteristics, providing a wide range of strategic possibilities. No two games will ever be the same!
At the start, players control young, expanding nations aspiring to become empires. During the rounds, players will add cards to their decks to reflect this growth. On their turn, players choose actions: Activate to perform actions, Innovate to acquire new cards, or Rebel to discard troublesome disturbance cards. Careful hand management is crucial for success!
Throughout the game, players will expand territories, subjugate other nations, develop science and technology, and promote trade, earning victory points as they evolve from barbarian tribes into consolidated empires. The game can end in two ways: a scoring phase when certain decks are depleted, or a collapse. In the first case, the player with the most victory points wins. If a collapse occurs, players compare the number of disturbance cards they hold—the player with the fewest wins. Prosperity and stability are equally important!
With an immersive theme, Imperium: Legendary strikes a satisfying balance between setting and gameplay mechanics. Its decks can be combined with those from Imperium: Classics, allowing players to use any of the 16 nations available. Each civilization has unique strategies, making every matchup a new strategic challenge and offering hours of entertainment.
