Data sheet
Welcome to Echo Ridge, agents. The city is full of mobsters and opportunists operating outside the law. Last night, film producer Donny Mureti, the mayor's son, was murdered in his penthouse. We know the incident is connected to the underworld, and the mayor wants the case closed before the press sinks its teeth into it. You have 48 hours to find the killer: watch, interrogate, or lock up whoever you need to. Oh, and don’t neglect other events happening around the city. Good luck!
Created by Scott Almes and illustrated by Nikoletta Vaszi, Tiny Epic Crimes can be played solo or with up to 4 players, ages 14 and up, in sessions of about 45 minutes. The Tiny Epic collection (Tiny Epic, in its original version) is known for packing a ton of components into a very small box. Each game is also unique, both in theme and in mechanics. In the case of Tiny Epic Crimes, the core mechanic is deduction. Players take on the roles of police officers, working hard to solve a murder case and shut down the city’s mob activity. The game is won if the murderer is correctly identified when time runs out. Each player only gets one guess, so solving the case may require some cooperation, like gathering evidence or “sharing” suspects’ alibis… but without revealing too much information. To win, you’ll need to balance secrecy with cooperation.
The game allows you to choose between three exciting variants, each with different setups, rules, and objectives. On one hand, there’s the basic or competitive mode, where each player takes on the role of an inspector investigating on their own and must keep all possible information secret. On another, there’s a fully cooperative version, where players work together as a team to solve the case; and finally, a solo mode, where a single player takes on multiple agent roles. Throughout the game, investigators will consume their most valuable resource: time. Each action costs hours, and once all players have used up their 48 hours, the game ends. Knowing how to spend those precious hours will be the key to finding the killer.
Can you manage all the information circulating through the crime-ridden city and solve the case?
