History of the RENFE DDMA Autoexpreso
During Era V of Spanish railroading, RENFE introduced the Auto-Expreso service, allowing passengers to transport their private vehicles alongside them on long-distance journeys.
DDMA platforms were a key component of this service, designed with two levels to carry automobiles. These wagons were integrated into "Estrella" and overnight express trains connecting major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Bilbao with coastal tourist destinations.
Over time, for safety reasons, many of these platforms were fitted with anti-vandal mesh—faithfully reproduced in this model.
An ideal complement for long-distance RENFE consists from Era V.
