Composition of the TGV PSE of the SNCF, corresponding to set 16.

Includes seven cars:

    - Two power cars
    - R1 lab car

    - R4 Bar car

Equipped with functional LED lighting according to the direction of travel (including cabin light and interior lighting of the cars), a five-pole motor with a flywheel, and numerous details faithful to the original model.

Can operate on curves with a radius of 360 mm.

TGV Set 16 and World Speed Record

On February 26, 1981, a TGV Sud-Est (Set 16) set a new speed record by reaching 380 km/h on the high-speed line between Doulevant-le-Château and Langres, France.

This record was part of the tests before the inauguration of France’s first high-speed line, the LGV Sud-Est, which connected Paris and Lyon.

The TGV in this set faithfully reproduces this iconic model, including the larger-diameter axles specially designed for the record.
