Two thousand years ago, the Roman Empire ruled the lands around the Mediterranean Sea. With peace at the borders, harmony within the provinces, a uniform law, and a common currency, the economy flourished, giving rise to powerful Roman dynasties that expanded into numerous cities.

Lead one of these dynasties: colonize the farthest realms of the Empire, expand your trade network, and appease the ancient gods to earn their favor. With careful strategic planning, you can develop your dynasty and make it the most powerful in the Roman Empire.

In the game, colonists are sent from Rome to settle in cities that produce bricks, food, tools, wine, and cloth. Each player starts with an identical hand of cards, which will grow over the course of the game.

The cards serve two purposes:

  • Allow the player to choose actions during the game.
  • Provide victory points at the end of the game.

Each game is different, not only due to the new sequences of cards available for purchase but also because of the modular layout of the cities. Once all the cards have been sold, the game ends, and victory points are tallied. The player with the most points wins.

Concordia includes a double-sided game board: one side shows the full Roman Empire with 30 cities, recommended for 3 to 5 players; the other side depicts the Italian Peninsula, Corsica, and Sicily with 25 cities, recommended for 2 to 4 players.

Concordia is an economic development game for 2 to 5 players set in Roman times. The game leaves little to chance, so players, instead of relying on dice rolls or drawing the right card, must bet on their planning skills to develop the optimal strategy leading to victory. Observing and anticipating opponents’ moves is crucial to prevent them from achieving their goals while completing your own.
