Relive historical events such as the Axis campaigns in North Africa and the Balkans, the Allied landing in Sicily, or the hard-fought advance in Italy.
Strategic naval dominance and resource management are key to victory in this immersive and dynamic experience from the Quartermaster General Front series, Southern Front.
The game Quartermaster General: Southern Front
Quartermaster General: Southern Front depicts the struggle in the Mediterranean from the summer of 1940 to the spring of 1944.
The game is played over 16 rounds, which correspond to the seasons of the years represented.
One player controls the Allies: the United Kingdom, the United States, and Free France. The other player commands the Axis: Germany, Italy, and other associated countries of the Tripartite Pact, such as Bulgaria.
The game ends when one player leads their opponent by 10 or more points in a scoring round or, failing that, the winner is determined at the end of the game.
Game mechanics
The game uses a card-driven engine. Each player has their own deck, reflecting the strengths and weaknesses of their faction.
Players take turns playing cards, either for their event or to perform other actions, such as recruiting troops, moving them, or engaging in combat.
Cards can be used in several ways:
- Play them as an action, resolving their text.
- Use the reaction located at the bottom.
- Discard them to perform actions such as Recruitment, Forced March, or Desperate Attack.
Both decks include Late War cards, which are added in the winter of 1941 and introduce events from the final phase of the conflict.
