How the Reservation System Works at El Taller del Modelista! Is there an upcoming release you don't want to miss? At El Taller del Modelista, you can make sure to secure it before it goes on sale with our pre-orders. We have introduced some important changes to our reservation system, and here we explain how it works. How does a reservation work?Easily reserve your unit: If there are spots available, the product will show you the option to reserve. In these cases, the reservation is confirmed instantly. Guarantee deposit: In some cases, a €5 deposit per unit is required. This is not an extra cost—it will be fully deducted from the final price when you purchase the product. For products with an RRP under €10, the deposit will be €1. Buy at your own pace: As long as the product hasn't arrived at the store, your reservation will not expire. Once the item becomes available, we will notify you by email, and you will have 7 days to place your order (with an automatic reminder when 48 hours are left). Always visible: In the "My Reservations" section, you can always check the products you have on pre-order, whether you paid a deposit or not, and their current status. Trust-based system: This new system is based on your previous reservation history. Whether your past reservations ended in a purchase or a cancellation determines whether or not you need to pay a deposit. If we don't have enough data, your initial reservations will always require a deposit payment.
🪙 Remember that a reservation is a binding buy/sell agreement. We commit to guaranteeing the availability of the product for you, and as a customer, you commit to purchasing it once it becomes available. If you don't want to commit, no problem! You always have the option to request an availability alert, and we'll send you an email when the product is in stock (provided there are remaining units). 📢 Update on Waitlists! We want to avoid endless waiting lists. When a product has no more units available for pre-order, the waitlist will be activated: First-come, first-served basis: If no spots remain, you can sign up for the waitlist, holding your place in the order you joined. Freed spot notification: When a unit becomes available (for instance, following a cancellation or an expanded order with the supplier), an email will be sent to the first person on the list. Time-framed confirmation: The interested buyer will have 24 hours (for currently available products) or 72 hours (for pending products) to confirm whether they want to take the reservation. Next in line: If it is not confirmed within that timeframe, or if the buyer decides to give up their spot, the notification will automatically move on to the next person on the list.
