Chasseurs Platoon Product Contents

The Chasseurs Platoon by Battlefront Miniatures expands your French Early-War army in Flames of War with specialized infantry teams and organic heavy support weapons to recreate the intense engagements of World War II. Renowned for their high state of training, these mechanized light infantry troops field a rich variety of support weaponry—including machine guns and mortars—to bolster the unit's firepower.

During the 1940 Battle of France, French commanders deployed mechanized infantry and elite formations to counter and stem the rapid German advance. Mechanized Chasseurs maneuvered using fully tracked armored transports while their heavy weapons teams delivered vital fire support during frontline firefights. This box set gathers essential infantry and support weapon teams to field these forces on your gaming table.

The Chasseurs Platoon in Flames of War

French infantry formations were built around specialized, mutually supporting fire teams. Riflemen pinned enemy strongpoints while maneuver elements advanced to assault opposing positions. VB rifle grenade teams added specialized light anti-fortification capability, while light machine guns and mortars kept constant pressure on entrenched defenders.

The mechanized Chasseurs combined strategic mobility with organic heavy firepower. In Flames of War, the command teams and heavy weapons included in this set allow players to field authentic French platoon structures and unlock varied tactical options for their Early-War lists.

Gameplay Experience and Tactical Applications

The addition of machine gun and mortar teams gives French infantry players remarkable tactical versatility. Heavy machine guns deliver formidable suppressive fire to stall enemy advances, while mortar teams supply crucial indirect fire to dig out concealed targets. Command teams ensure your unit remains responsive under enemy fire.

This expansion set is an essential purchase for historical wargamers and modelers building 1940 French forces. Please note: This kit contains infantry and support weapons teams; tracked Lorraine armored personnel carriers are sold separately.
