Flames of War: Char 2C Tank Platoon - French super-heavy tank miniatures. BATTLE FRONT FRX17

Char 2C Tank Platoon Product Contents

The Char 2C Tank Platoon by Battlefront Miniatures brings three of the largest and heaviest operational tanks in military history to your Flames of War Early-War collection. Originally engineered by France to breach fortified lines, cross massive trenches, and spearhead infantry assaults, these giant landships boast incredible size and imposing presence.

Though designed late in World War I, the Char 2C entered service during the interwar era. Its monumental scale, heavy firepower, and multi-turret configuration make it one of the most unique armored fighting vehicle projects of the 20th century. This box set provides an extraordinary centerpiece for collectors of Early-War French forces and military modeling enthusiasts alike.

The Char 2C Tank in Flames of War

Classified as a Char de Rupture (breakthrough tank), the Char 2C was created to shatter enemy defensive networks and cross obstacles that would immobilize lighter armor. Measuring nearly 12 meters (39 feet) in length and weighing approximately 68 tons, its physical footprint was unprecedented for its time.

Primary armament featured a 75mm main gun mounted in a fully traversing front turret, supported by four Hotchkiss machine guns positioned around the hull and rear turret. This weapon distribution provided 360-degree suppressive coverage against enemy infantry and anti-tank teams.

Only ten Char 2C super-heavy tanks were ever built, remaining in French service through the 1930s and into the 1940 campaign. While built around interwar doctrine, fielding these super-heavy tanks in Flames of War allows players to explore unique tactical scenarios and field true super-heavy armor on the tabletop.

Assembly Experience and Hobby Application

The Char 2C is a standout modeling project for hobbyists who appreciate rare armored vehicles and unique historical prototypes. Its massive silhouette and intricate surface detailing guarantee these vehicles will dominate any French collection or WWII gaming table.

Cast in high-quality resin and white metal, these 15mm scale models offer fine detail and substantial heft. Assembling and painting these super-heavy leviathans provides a deeply rewarding project for historical painters.

Please note: This product contains expansion miniatures for a historical tabletop wargame, not a standalone game. Miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly before use.
