Flames of War Product Content: 37mm Anti-tank Platoon

The 37mm Anti-tank Platoon for Flames of War allows you to add four anti-tank gun teams to your US Marine forces. These artillery pieces are designed to support the infantry and protect their positions against enemy armored vehicle attacks, especially in Pacific theater combat scenarios.

The set is an option for players who want to round out their US forces with historical support weaponry. Its four guns make it possible to represent an anti-tank section organized to defend Marine riflemen against potential armored counterattacks.

The 37mm anti-tank gun in the Pacific theater

The 37mm M3A1 anti-tank gun was commonly used alongside 81mm mortars within the weapons section of Marine regiments. Anti-tank sections typically had four pieces and were tasked with protecting the infantry against Japanese armored vehicles.

Its caliber was adequate against many Japanese tanks, whose armor was relatively light. In addition, its moderate weight made transport easier: it could be towed by a jeep or moved manually across difficult terrain. These characteristics made it a practical piece for operations in the Pacific islands.

Assembly experience and gameplay possibilities

Anti-tank gun teams bring visual and tactical variety to a Flames of War US Marine force. They are especially appropriate for representing defensive positions and support units that protect the infantry against potential enemy tank attacks.

The four pieces also offer a military modeling project for those who enjoy painting artillery and recreating historical units. As these are metal miniatures, they will need to be assembled and painted before adding them to your collection.
