Echo Base was located in the snowy heart of the planet Hoth, defended by numerous fortifications and artillery emplacements, where it remained hidden until an Imperial probe droid located the Rebel installations.

The Imperial offensive was relentless, and the base soon fell. To keep the Rebellion alive, the brave defenders of Echo Base held off the Imperial forces in order to cover the escape of as many Rebels as possible.
