After deploying probe droids across the galaxy, the Galactic Empire discovered Echo Base, a stronghold that the Rebel Alliance maintained on the planet Hoth.

In addition to the base’s fortified positions and arsenal, Hoth’s extreme cold provided the Rebels with additional defense. Darth Vader himself led an Imperial contingent made up of specialized troops, equipped to fight in arctic environments, with the goal of launching a decisive attack and annihilating Echo Base.
