Infinity N5 Hyperthermal - narrative expansion and Spec-Ops (Esp). CORVUS BELLI

Infinity N5 Hyperthermal Product Contents

Infinity N5 Hyperthermal is an expansion book for the sci-fi miniatures wargame Infinity N5, published by Corvus Belli. Set 185 years in the future, it takes us to Shinju, a planet on the brink of collapse where geopolitical tensions, struggles over alien resources, and the sabotage of the Red Fever threaten to trigger a conflict with unpredictable consequences.

The Shinju crisis becomes the backdrop for a dangerous confrontation between various forces of the Human Sphere. In this context, Spec-Ops—specialized operatives capable of adapting to high-risk missions—play a fundamental role. Their operations may prove decisive in determining the planet's fate.

This book combines narrative background, faction and unit profiles, a dedicated Spec-Ops chapter, painting tutorials, and an official narrative campaign. It is an expansion designed both for players who want to delve deeper into the lore of Infinity and for those eager to bring these events to the gaming table.

How to Play Infinity N5 Hyperthermal

Hyperthermal is not a standalone game, but an expansion for Infinity N5 that enhances the wargame's narrative possibilities. Its campaign allows players to recreate key missions from the Shinju conflict, providing a shared story arc for engagements between the involved forces.

A standout highlight of the book is the chapter dedicated to Spec-Ops, a game mode focusing on special operatives and their ability to handle complex combat scenarios. The book compiles information on these specialists, accompanying the revamp of this game mode within Infinity.

The publication also explores various factions and their forces in depth, including Haqqislam, ALEPH and its OperationS sectoral, Yu Jing's Imperial Service, Nomads' Corregidor, and Combined Army's Next Wave, alongside profile information for NA2 mercenaries.

To enjoy the campaign and use its contents during gameplay, you will need the core rules and corresponding miniatures for Infinity N5. This book provides background lore and narrative missions, but does not include miniatures.

Gameplay Impressions and Lore

Infinity N5 Hyperthermal is an especially appealing expansion for hobbyists who want their tabletop matches to be part of an overarching narrative. The Shinju conflict delivers a sci-fi setting defined by political intrigue, conflicting interests, and covert operations—elements that fit seamlessly with Infinity's tactical nature.

The section dedicated to Spec-Ops is another major draw, particularly for players who enjoy customizing special operatives. Combining faction profiles, a narrative campaign, and high-quality artwork, the book enriches understanding of the setting while inspiring thematic scenarios.

Three step-by-step painting tutorials add value beyond the rules and lore, making it a useful resource for hobbyists and painters. Overall, Hyperthermal is a fantastic addition for current Infinity N5 players seeking deeper background lore and narrative campaign play.
