The S88N module allows the transmission of the status of 16 digital inputs to the digital command station or to a PC interface. These modules can be cascaded in numbers ranging from 8 to 16 units (128–256 inputs), depending on the type of command station or digital interface used. Each input is equipped with a control LED that monitors the logical state of the input: a lit LED indicates that there is an electrically closed contact between the input and the common terminal (“C”); an unlit LED indicates an inactive input (open contact). Monitoring only works when the module is connected to the S88N bus.

The RJ45 connection allows the use of standard patch cables.
