Description
Generally speaking we can say that there are two types of tug-boats: those that work in ports and that work on the high seas. Within these groups there are numerous local variations as well as boats of different sizes and outputs. The SANSON was a high seas tug from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Its engine was driven by a steam boiler that could produce up to 2000 HP, reaching speeds of up to 14 knots. It was fifted with large fenders at the bow and along the sides. Generally, its function was not so much to tow but rather to "push" the transatlantic giants.
Wooden kit. Kit comes complete with detailed plans and instructions and comes with everything needed to build except Tools, Glue, Paint.
