RG 1/144 GUNDAM GROUND TYPE Product Contents

RG 1/144 GUNDAM GROUND TYPE is a Gunpla plastic model kit by Bandai Spirits that recreates the RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team at 1/144 scale. Designed specifically for localized terrestrial warfare, this iconic Mobile Suit makes its debut in the Real Grade lineup with an all-new mold and unprecedented surface detail.

The kit was engineered with a major focus on articulation and poseability, effortlessly recreating the Ground Type's signature battlefield stances from the anime. Advanced waist and leg jointing allow for deep kneeling positions and realistic heavy firing poses.

In addition to its faithful visual recreation, this Real Grade kit comes equipped with a massive arsenal and a functional container pack capable of stowing weaponry. The result is a highly engaging build that excels both on the workbench and in a display case.

How to Build

RG 1/144 GUNDAM GROUND TYPE is a snap-fit plastic model kit requiring assembly. The individual parts are built according to the illustrated manual to progressively construct the Mobile Suit's frame, armor plating, joints, and weapons.

Staying true to the Real Grade design philosophy, the kit combines a compact 1/144 scale with incredible mechanical detail and dynamic articulation. Multi-color part separation reproduces intricate suit details and color tones right off the runner without needing paint.

Once assembled, the model achieves exceptional poseability through its updated joint architecture. The waist and leg mechanisms are specifically tuned to execute natural combat poses, including the iconic crouching sniper stance.

Assembly and Display Experience

A major highlight of this RG kit is its incorporation of functional mechanical gimmicks that mirror the in-universe operations of the Mobile Suit. Chest panel hatches open to reveal the Vulcan cannon detail as well as the cockpit hatch mechanism.

The legs feature opening side calf hatches that house beam saber hilts for quick-draw action. The backpack is also designed to interact directly with the weapon container, using a lifting mechanism that simulates its raising and lowering motion.

The weapon storage container features an opening and closing system. Its internal rack shifts in sync with the door cover, letting you create realistic re-arm and maintenance diorama scenes.

The kit also perfectly recreates the famous 180 mm Cannon firing position. Dedicated effect parts are included to prop the shield onto the terrain, allowing you to build an authentic battlefield scene straight out of The 08th MS Team.
