In service with the RAF since 1980, the imposing Boeing Chinook HC.1 has undergone constant upgrades and further procurements ever since, becoming an essential component of the United Kingdom’s military capabilities. In fact, it seems that the only aircraft capable of replacing a Chinook is another Chinook—a situation unlikely to change for many years.
With the latest variants ranking among the most advanced aircraft in today’s Royal Air Force inventory, the Chinook Sustainment Programme will ensure these helicopters continue to serve the nation—as only the Chinook can—for at least the next two decades.
