For its 1.5 ton cargo capacity, people called it “Polutorka” (“one and a half”). The truck was incredibly durable, easily maintained, with excellent all terrain capabilities, and running on low octane fuel. The legendary “Polutorka”, together with the T-34 tank and the Katyusha rocket launcher, became one of the great symbols of the Great Patriotic War.
