This vehicle possessed good mobility and reliability and with its front-mounted engine afforded a degree of protection to its three man crew, especially from a frontal hit. The disadvantages were in its complicated servicing, poor acceleration and turning circle, and the noise it made. However, being equipped with tracks far outweighed these disadvantages. The Sd.kfz 250/9 was one of the successful vehicles in the vehicles classified comprising of bodies and other portions mass-produced originally for other vehicles.
