Lost Ruins of Arnak: The Missing Expedition is the highly anticipated second expansion of the award-winning game Lost Ruins of Arnak. Designed by Elwen and Min, it includes new components that are added to the base game to multiply the strategic possibilities available to players.

In Lost Ruins of Arnak, each player controls an exploration team that must unravel the mysteries of the island. Combining worker placement and deck-building mechanics, players must collect resources, face powerful beasts, and advance in the research of a lost temple. This new expansion is designed to be used in two ways: by adding a wealth of components to the base game, allowing solo or group play with up to 4 players, or by playing in campaign mode, which includes six chapters to enjoy solo or cooperatively with two players.

- 34 new cards (21 items and 13 artifacts)

- 8 idols

- 5 sites

- 4 assistants

- 3 guardians

- 2 expedition leaders (to combine with the first expansion of the game or to try the leaders module if you’ve never played with it before)

- 2 new alternative temples, which modify the central board and the research dynamics carried out with the magnifying glass and the notebook.

The two new leaders are the Journalist and the Mechanic. Each comes with a specific set of rules that slightly alter the game: the Journalist will gain more resources depending on the number of articles published (and can advance the magnifying glass beyond the notebook on the research track), while the Mechanic has a special helper, the monkey Rusty, as well as a special gear that provides benefits during island exploration.

The main novelty introduced by The Missing Expedition expansion is the two new temples: the Waterfall Temple and the Tree Temple, which are used during the campaign but also add variability to base game sessions. The Waterfall Temple hides mysteries behind its curtains of water, from shortcuts to even a new archaeological site. Meanwhile, the Tree Temple allows players to perform ancient rituals using idols.
