Knarr. DEVIR

Recruit and lead a group of Vikings to form your guild, make a fortune by sending them to discover new territories on your ship, establish trade routes, and in some cases, settle permanently. At the same time, cultivate your reputation and make your name resonate in heroic songs to earn even more victory points! Designed by Thomas Dupont and illustrated by Antoine Carrion, Knarr is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, with sessions lasting about 30 minutes. Across a series of turns, using hand management and set collection mechanics, players will compete to score as many victory points as possible.

The main component of Knarr is the cards, divided into two groups: destination cards and Viking cards. Large and beautifully illustrated, they drive the gameplay. When played, cards cascade over one another, forming a chain of resources that will determine players' income.

During their turn, players go through two phases: reputation and action. In the reputation phase, the player scores points according to their level of reputation. In the action phase, they choose between recruiting or exploring. Recruiting allows players to place Viking cards in their play area, forming columns by card color and taking the rewards at the top of the column. Exploring lets them claim a destination card and place it on their ship, paying its cost with cards from the play area. Optionally, before or after their action, players may also trade by spending bracelets from their zone.

Knarr also includes a race component. The game features an expert variant with artifacts (granting rewards if certain conditions are met after the action phase), and the alternate side of the ship boards.
