Horror on the Orient Express: Investigators Unveiled - Horror and Deduction Expansion. ASMODEE

Horror on the Orient Express: Investigators Revealed Product Contents

Horror on the Orient Express: Investigators Revealed is an expansion for Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game that expands character selection options and adds a fresh layer of uncertainty to your gaming sessions. With this expansion, characters who originally served strictly as Suspects in the base game can now step forward as playable Investigators.

The expansion introduces 6 new playable Investigators, bringing the total choice of Investigators to 10 across your games. Crucially, the mechanism works in reverse as well: any of the base game Investigators can now be assigned as potential Suspects. As a result, every playthrough introduces a completely different mix of characters and hidden cultists.

Investigators Revealed requires the base game Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game to play and is engineered to enhance the variety, deduction elements, and replayability of the core cooperative horror experience.

How to Play

This expansion enhances the character draft phase at the start of each match. While the base game strictly segregates characters into Investigators and Suspects, Investigators Revealed integrates former Suspects into the playable roster.

This gives your group brand-new options when assembling a team to survive the horrors aboard the Orient Express. Each character features distinct abilities and profession skills, allowing you to approach scenarios from entirely new mechanical angles.

The reverse swap adds a significant tactical twist: base game Investigators can now appear on the Suspect side of the board. The true identities of the hidden cultists are no longer tied exclusively to the original suspect pool.

This shifting dynamic reshapes how players analyze clues and deductions. Your team must navigate the train's terrifying encounters while remaining acutely aware that any character's role and motives can shift from match to match.

Gameplay Experience

Investigators Revealed primarily delivers deeper variety and high replayability to Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game. Transforming former Suspects into fully playable team members significantly broadens team composition strategies.

The bidirectional role-swapping mechanic elevates table paranoia. Knowing that any original hero could secretly be a Suspect creates tense deduction moments and dynamic narrative beats across every session.

New character abilities invite players to experiment with fresh strategies for overcoming train hazards. This makes the expansion particularly rewarding for veteran groups who have logged multiple plays of the core game and want fresh mechanical depth.

The expansion faithfully retains the cooperative, narrative, and Lovecraftian horror atmosphere of the base game, while introducing far greater flexibility into party composition and deduction dynamics.
