Bitoku. DEVIR

In Bitoku, players take on the role of spirits inhabiting an ancient forest protected by the Great Spirit. Their goal is for their spirits to ascend and become worthy heirs of the Great Spirit of the forest. The Great Spirit has ruled the forest’s inhabitants with wisdom and justice for centuries, but its time is coming to an end. The Bitoku spirits must decide which of them will take its place.

Designed by Germán Millán (Kingdom Defenders, Sabika), this is a heavy eurogame featuring demanding dice placement, hand management, and engine building. It will delight players who enjoy discovering multiple strategic paths in highly deep board games. The theme and mechanics blend seamlessly thanks to the evocative artwork of Edu Valls (Block and Key, Blockbuilders). The game also includes contributions from Dávid Turczi (Teotihuacan, Anachrony), renowned for his solo modes.

In this game, players represent Bitoku spirits on their path toward transcendence, seeking to become the next Great Spirit of the forest. They will rely on the help of yōkai, kodamas, and various pilgrims who accompany them on their journey. Players must manage their hand of cards, using the yōkai at the right time and place to make the most of their abilities. Throughout the game, they can acquire more yōkai cards to improve their deck and expand their strategic options.

Each player also has three yōkai guardians (dice) that can be sent to the large regions of the main board to perform new actions: constructing buildings, obtaining soul crystals, activating effects, and more. They may also assist the mitamas, souls seeking redemption, with the help of chinkon dragonflies. Additionally, players must manage their personal domain, where pilgrims travel on paths of contemplation and reflection, sharing their experiences with the Bitoku as part of the spiritual journey.
