Lacrimosa es un juego que nos transporta a las cortes europeas del siglo XVIII siguiendo la obra del compositor Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Ficha técnica
Lacrimosa is a game that transports players to the European courts of the 18th century, following the life and work of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Designed by Gerard Ascensi and Ferran Renalias and illustrated by Jared Blando, Enrique Corominas, and David Esbrí, Lacrimosa offers 90-minute games for up to 4 players.
As patrons of the Austrian genius, players aim to be remembered as his greatest benefactors and go down in history alongside him. To achieve this, you must complete the unfinished Requiem and demonstrate that you were his most loyal supporters throughout his life.
With deck-building and hand management mechanics, Lacrimosa is played over 5 rounds, each representing different creative moments of Mozart. Players compete to earn the most recognition points by commissioning works from the composer, performing or selling them, recalling shared memories, and traveling to Europe's most famous venues. Additionally, players assist Mozart's widow, Constanze, in completing the Requiem, his posthumous masterpiece.
The game features a spectacular layout, including a central board with a detailed map of Central Europe to follow Mozart's travels. The Requiem fragments gradually complete as players take actions, and spaces are provided for work and memory cards. Each player also uses a personal board where cards are played, representing memories and commissioned works. Throughout the rounds, players acquire new cards to enhance their personal decks through two actions: documenting memories and commissioning compositions. Meeting the desires of royal courts brings benefits, and attending to the preferences of monarchs (opera, religious music, symphonies, or chamber music) grants additional advantages. Players also score prestige points through round bonus cards, awarded based on completed actions at the end of each round.
Lacrimosa can also be enjoyed solo. In this mode, a single player competes against the producer, actor, and playwright Emanuel Schikaneder, with three difficulty levels available. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a pivotal figure in Western music, influencing generations long after his early death. Lacrimosa is a fitting tribute, offering a fun and challenging experience that immerses players in the composer's life and work.
Will you honor his legacy and be remembered alongside him?
